Due to higher than expected price pressures
encountered in product price, market research firm IHS recently lowered its
earnings expectations for 2013 solar inverter.
Global inverter market revenue is expected
to decline by 9% to $ 6.4 billion, down from $ 7.1 billion in 2012. IHS had
expected year on year this figure will only fall by 5%.
"In the past few years, solar module
manufacturers experienced price pressure is much greater than the inverter
supplier." Senior researcher IHS PV market Cormac Gilligan (Cormac
Gilligan) said. "But component prices have now reached an inflection
point, and began to rise, which had a significant impact on the inverter
suppliers, price pressures began to shift to the areas of their business."
High in Germany
and Italy ,
but development began to decline in the market, competition and strive to
promote the accumulation of price pressures, and central inverters for photovoltaicpower station prices, and the price of such products is currently the highest.
IHS said that Germany and Italy to the
two countries together inverter shipments are expected to decline by 50% in
2013 will occur, the total decline of about 5.7GW, while shipments in the
region last year to 11.5GW.
"2013 on the European market compared
to total revenue inverter 2011 will be reduced by half." Mr. Gilligan
said. "However, the European market for digital inverter suppliers but did
not change significantly. This situation is caused by the fierce market
competition, and will force the wind inverter suppliers aggressively into emerging
such as South Africa and Thailand market
to seek new growth opportunities. "
According to IHS, said the average price of
the inverter overall in 2013 by 22 cents in 2012 to 18 cents per watt per watt
